From My Perspective In The Child Called It, I believe that David was a victim in the beginning because his mom used to love him and David had a good relationship with his mom, but after time passed and David mom started drinking she changed a lot she became more violent and started to abuse David by hitting him and basically torches him and even tho David tried loving her with all his heart for some reason his mom kept rejecting him with all her heart like if he hated him and David family got to the point where his brother stopped talking to him, and his dad wouldn’t defend him at all when his mom kept hitting him and David mom didn’t feed so David started to steal students food till he got caught.
‘’Love and honor thy Mother, for she is the fruit that gave you life’’ Even tho David mom hit him and made him starve it still made her his mom. Because she brought David to life and raised him when he was a baby, because of that Davi d still honor and love his mother till she forgives him and starts loving him again but that doesn’t give David mom the right to hit him or abuse him because he only 4 years old and his mom making him drink chemicals that can kill him, and she even stabbed him. She would also punch him like if he was any kind of person and like if he was unknown.
“I was so hungry for love that I had swallowed the whole charade’’ that explained that he had no one that could love him including his mom and dad because he let his mother hit him, and she even tried burning David and made him drink chemicals that can affect his body for example she pushed him towards the grown and his arm pop out so she was so smart that when his dad got home she had told him that

In this book, David was abused in his childhood by his mom because he didn’t really do anything to her, therefore, he was a victim of everything he been through with his mother and dad, Each day he became stronger and stronger to the point that he couldn’t keep up with the abuse he was receiving. David was tired of all the trouble his mother caused him so he started to hate himself and he would ask himself why God would want anyone to pass through what happening and he started to hate God for what was happening to him David Also started to hate his whole family because they started to treat him like an object basically and I believe that You shouldn’t treat anyone like that because we’re all humans and we all feel pain.
