When you think of a hero, you think of Superman, Spiderman, or other superheroes on TVs, But that’s not always the case. I mean they can be common everyday people doing ordinary things. Heroism is making an impact and changing someone’s life no matter how small. They would help you in any situation. They can be someone like Abraham Lincoln who fought and won a war and sacrificed themselves for the sake of others. But you will never find a hero who leaves you and won’t help you. For this purpose, they are very strong people.
A hero is someone who goes through something hard and gets back up. “It was life and death with me. But I remained firm, and, according to my resolution, on the third day of September, 1838, I left my chains, and succeeded in reaching to New York”. “Heroism is tied to an evolution of consciousness”. There are so many well-known heroes that it’s so confusing everybody (‘Where I Find My Heroes’). “Through the friends of Liberty die, Liberty itself is immortal” (‘White House Funeral Sermon for Abraham Lincoln’). Furthermore, heroes are strong people and they can be like a police officer.
There are many types of heroes like police officers, firefighters, doctors and EMT’s who dedicate their lives to saving lives. A hero is someone who is never cruel or selfish. “…or insinuates evil which he dare not say out” (‘Definition of a Gentleman’). We all have different definitions of heroism, But I think we can all agree that a hero is someone you can look up to and respect. As kids we all have a hero whether it’s your parent or a teacher, they impact our lives in a way that helps turn us into the people we are today. To sum up, they are strong people, who can be doctors, but they will never put you down.
In conclusion, heroes are everywhere, they can be a teacher, firefighter, a parent, or even a sibling, but they’re still considered a hero to you. What does a hero mean to you? Do you think a hero is someone off a cartoon or a book? Or is a hero someone who did something big like George Washington? That’s what a hero is to me, sometimes heroes can do something that’s not recognized. Now I have more information in the future and knowing that I did it, I can look back on it and use it.
