Collaborative learning in the social studies classroom helps
to encourage communication, teamwork, and provides the opportunity for students
to learn from one another. Teachers who plan engaging collaborative activities
for their students provide a variety of learning opportunities and choice
centered, many times, on the same academic standards and content.
