Everyone has the tastes when it comes to career choice but I am convinced that the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetics (CRNAs) is the best decision I have ever made in my life. For a long time, I have aspired and desired to be part of the advanced practice nursing but I was always undecided on which of the four options to select. Briefly, the advanced practice nursing has four choices including nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse-midwives, and the CRNAs. While each of the other three has their respective benefits and importance, my choice for CRNAs was informed by a number of issues.

First, CRNAs play a more comprehensive role in helping patients than certified nurse-midwives, clinical nurse specialists, and nurse practitioners. Typically, CRNAs help patients before, during, and even after crucial procedures that may include surgery and obstetric. Additionally, most heath facilities rely on CRNAs to monitor patients throughout a procedure to ensure their recovery this description matches my interests. Conversely, certified nurse-midwives are limited to assisting expectant mothers. Similarly, clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners do not undertake as many activities as CRNAs. Since I love helping people in many ways, I feel that only CRNA position would help become the person I always aspire to be.

Two, it is common to find CRNAs enjoying a higher degree of professional respect and autonomy than their peers in lower levels. Besides their education levels, which is a Master’s degree, CRNAs gain respect from the essential service they offer to patients. Contrastingly, the education requirement for a nurse-midwife, clinical nurse, and nurse practitioners, is just a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As someone who loves autonomy and uniqueness, my choice for CRNAs is indeed the right one.

Thirdly, I chose the CRNA career due to the remuneration package that comes with this choice. While money is not always the motivating factor for people in this career, one cannot claim that such incentives are not important. Today, the CRNAs are some of the well-remunerated professionals with some earning as much as $200,000 annually.

Conversely, the clinical nurse and nurse practitioners do not earn as much as the CRNAs.The other decision for choosing CRNA is that the scope of operations is wider than that of the other three advances practices. For instance, most health facilities in the US did not allow Clinical nurse specialists to prescribe medications to their patients, unlike the Nurse practitioners who are permitted to undertake this duty.

Conversely, CRNAs are hardly limited in such activities as they are considered to be more qualified than all the others.

Future as a CRNA

In light of the reasons articulated above for my choice as a CRNA, I aspire and envisage a future where my clients shall be satisfied with my services. In the future, I intend to undertake different studies that are aimed at ascertaining the efficacy of various clinical interventions. As a result, I will always assure my clients of effective services. Furthermore, I envisage myself as a professional who will be handing complicated cases that will call for patience, professionalism, and a strong sense of ethics.

Typically, CRNAs can face any challenge due to the complications that patients have. In such cases, a CRNA is expected to go out of their way to comfort a patient while ensuring they undergo a surgery with less pain and anxiety. In conclusion, my choice for CRNA will bring satisfaction in my life, and I will ensure I thrive in this career by helping patients with all of my heart.
